Notes
: This tequila is produced in Jalisco, the heart of tequila country. This is the youngest expression of this particular line. The others being Azulejos , Reposado, and Azulejos Anejo. They use a proprietary yeast and stainless steel stills, so it has a brighter taste than some using copper stills (I personally think there is reaction between the copper and the distillate which is good if not mandatory for whiskey but not so good with tequila and certain other distillates).

Appearance: Crystal clear, lovely body. On swirling it leaves a very light coating on the glass which then seems to almost evaporate off the side.

First Impression: Has that good tequila smell. It has all the right elements right at the start: savory, citrusy lime, pineapple, at first, then a sort of mineral salts at the end.

Taste: Sweet savory notes, like a sweet olive brine and a lime citrus with salt - develops very quickly, racing each other for your attention. Drying but bright taste, slight alkali tang and touches of leather. Very clean tasting.

Finish is bracing and very smooth. This tequila could be trouble-it's so smooth things could happen.

Drinks: Wonderful margaritas, be sure to use fresh juice and Grand Marnier - anything less would be an insult to the tequila and a waste.

Cigars: A good cigarillo- nothing too heavy. Cuts the tar like a knife.

Final Thoughts: Delicious, smooth, and bracing.

Bottle: Handblown glass decanter similar in shape to the old Mateus bottles with a large circular decorative stopper with a Agave design pressed into it. Simple mylar labels front and back- more durable than paper so won't scratch or peel easily.

Somewhat annoying intro that refuses to turn off but it's worth the wait for all the other information. Pretty exhaustive information via drop down menus. Well laid out, if a trifle busy.
