Notes: Tip Top has become one of the more successful canned cocktail lines, emerging from a welter of competitors.

“Always Balanced, Never Too Sweet” They have quite an array of cocktails to choose from. They run the range from the classics, Bees Knees, Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Paper Plane, Negroni, Mai Tai, Margarita, Martini, Whiskey Sour,  to the Cosmopolitan, Expresso Coffee”Martini,” and the Naked and Famous Cocktail All of which we intend to taste test, They all come in 100 Ml liquid servings and are around 25-26 % alcohol or 48-50 proof, with the simple instruction of shake well THEN pour over ice. Don’t bother pouring and then shaking with ice. That defeats the convenience factor. We found that with ice, they fill a 4 oz Low Ball glass nicely for a quick on-the-rocks cocktail.

Why would someone buy these ?
Because they are the soul of convenience, they are small, don’t need barware to serve, have no garnishes to fuss with ( but you can always add them to dress the cocktail), and no glass, stirring, or shaking instruments are needed. Never mind the plethora of bottles of spirits, juices, bitters, etc., you would need to drag along also. Also, they are easy to transport and chill; for the lazy, your guests can pick out the ones they want, and nothing goes to waste. You can even take the unopened cans back home for a later party.

Great for boats, poolside, on the beach, or at a party, they are a lot easier and simpler for most people who don’t wan to be bothered with mixing a drink. They are also a lot faster and good for self service for a thirsty crowd.

Appearance: Appropriately translucent/cloudy like any Margarita

First Impression: Decent, proper smell of tequila, lime, and orange liqueur, Faithful to what one would expect of a margarita.

Taste: This is a better bar-type margarita. It is a touch salty for my taste, but I suppose that is intentional and a matter of preference.

Drinks: NA – Premix

Can: Light green, Celedon like color with company logo of Giraffe with Top Hateasy-to-read list of ingredients

Other: You can certainly add a lime wedge garnish.

Final Thoughts: A decent off-the-shelf Margarita that is very portion-controlled.
