Type: New York State It is very rare for us to chose a distiller twice in a row to have a product as spirits of the month but Last Shot Distilling has come out with another great product
Amazing stuff for a 1 year old whiskey- Drinks like a much older Macallan or Redbreast
Type: Crème About as close to a perfect liquid chocolate creme brulee as it gets. Comfort food in a liquid alcohol form.
Type: New York State, Non-chill filtered An outstanding whiskey for a young small barrel bourbon from a distillery barely older than it is .
Type: Malt (Corn), Wheat A lovely, full on malted grain whiskey reminiscent of Japanese and Irish Whiskies and also of fine Vieux system Genever .
Winner of Master Distiller “World War of Whiskey” and Chris was named Master Distiller for this one.
Masterfully done, delicious white whiskey. One of the best we have ever had.
An extremely easy to drink and well-balanced liqueur that is not overly sweet.Faithful reproduction of a childhood orange cream popsicle with a kick that is somehow subtle yet substantial at the same time. Quite an achievement in vision and blending!
An honest heavy rum with no coloring or flavorings to dope it unlike many in the category.
Type: Cuban Style, Micro Distilled, Small Batch While possibly a challenge to fully comprehend for a novice rum enthusiast, this is high art for a starving artist price.
Amazing rum both in quality and price. Better living through chemistry and skill.
Type: Grain Base A whole new way to be environmentally responsible when drinking a spirit. Interesting, fun ,and good. rare combination
Type: Macerated and Distilled, Molasses Base, New World One of the most complex and baroque gins I have ever encountered. If I could, I would replace my blood with this.
Type: Small Batch, Straight An excellent Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey from on of Our Favorite Brewers ( they make outstanding beer too !)
A full but gentle Irish whiskey-type malt whiskey with a full-grain palate.
A real man or womans rye whiskey, full of grain, a bit of fire and a lot of spice. Nicely done!
Type: Triple Sec A must have for classic cocktails calling for a drier form of triple sec or Dry Curacao .
Type: Acholado (blend), Mosto Verde Process, Small Batch Very nicely done, (and in a environmentally responsible way), flavorful and dangerously smooth – just the way we like them!
Sumptuous, decadent, and somehow quite affordable .
Type: Flavored Vodka, Polugar, Vodka - Flavored, Wheat Rye Never mind vodka, this is a stunning gin botanical mixture. It is what Hendricks Gin and a number of other somewhat non traditional London Dry Gins were shooting for (and failed miserably at compared to this). Subtle, understated and gracious.
Type: Single Grain, Single Malt Words are inadequate to the task of describing just how lovely this Polugar is …..
Type: Single Cane Varietal Rum Whole cane and nothing but the cane.Without compromise, apology or regret.
Type: Overproof, White (Blanche) Cheap, tasty, and made the old fashioned way.
Type: Rhum Industrial Proof that excellent, craft, and cheap can come together in one product. Sadly not often, but with this rum it does !
Type: American Whisky, New York State A really outstanding beer derived type of whiskey with a truly lovely taste of pleasant citrusy and piney hops – not the usual rancid tom cat piss smell you get from some hops. A crossover whiskey from the beer and hops making for an extremely drinkable whiskey. Slap a nipple on the bottle and send me to bed.
Type: Liqueur Tambour Original Sodabi is a very mixable liqueur that could be used in a whole new family of cocktails and especially as a Tiki ingredient.
Type: Eau De Vie, Vodka The first vodka to win Spirit of the Month on Spirits Review ! Not an easy achievement…
Type: Single Malt Please bury me with a bottle of this…One of two spirits out of the almost 1.200 spirits we have reviewed to get a 10 out of 10.
Type: Single Malt A simply amazing Irish Whisky. A singular blend of 25 separate expressions into a single bottling, each adding its voice to the choir. Ther is no better Irish Whisky on the market right now in my opinion.
