Decent, cheap, and for me local.
Notes: Part of the Dundee craft pack – a series of limited edition/release beers that are each a different, classic style of beer.
Appearance: Pleasing brown black, minimal carbonation with fine bubbles
First Impression: Nice malts smokey,chocolate,vanilla
Taste: Nicely malty ,nicely grainy with slight sweetness balanced by the bitterness of the hops, chocolate, nuts, vanilla
Bottle: Fairly standard 12 oz brown bottle with dark red/cordovan color label with ttheir usual slightly whimsical design of a Porter facing away from you but hiding a lage German stein behind his back (no, doesn’t make sense to me either)
Other: Dundee has to be given credit for trying to market all these new ( to them ) styles of beer. Each one is a competent if conservative example of every style they have taken on.Compliments to their Master Brewer who has spearheaded this effort!
Final Thoughts: A nicely done Porter of the lighter end of the style range.A good beer to get people to put down the yellow horse piss and try some real beer.
