This rum is produced in England.
Notes: This rum is produced in England.
Appearance: Clear, no sediment whatsoever. On swirling, it leaves a thin, but tenacious clear coat on the inside of the glass, then nothing, slides right back to the bottom.
First Impression: Smells like a very ripe mango – maybe a touch too ripe almost no hints of alcohol as such – more of a fermented fruit smell.
Taste: As advertised, it tastes like a ripe mango – and not much like actual rum. Extreme likes to flavor their products in a extreme fashion. In this case they overwhelm any incipient rum flavor. A bit too sweet for my personal taste.
Drinks: The Mojito suggested on their back label was good if a bit sweet. Check their web site ww.playersextreme.com for more ideas.
Cigars: Too sweet to have a cigar with unless this was in a mixed drink.
Final Thoughts: Not many. Very low proof rum that is almost a RTD in itself or some other form of alcopop for the younger set. Not objectionable, but hardly exciting. A lot of flavoring/infusion in these rums. Great for one of those umbrella drinks, or with chinese food. Definitely aimed at the younger crowd with the sweet, obscured, alcohol taste- not for the serious drinker -of course, I believe few of those flavored drinks are.
Bottle: Clear tall rectangular bottle like any number of other rum bottles, only difference is the planed off edges. Applied clear label on front and paper label on back. Sky-blue neck foil.
