This Espresso Vodka is the only one I know of that boasts double the caffeine of. . . what I am not sure. Kind of a vodka energy drink, I guess!
Notes: his Espresso Vodka is the only one I know of that boasts double the caffeine of. . . what I am not sure. Kind of a vodka energy drink, I guess!
It is made in Schiedam, Holland and is part of a large portfolio of flavored vodkas including, variation on this a Espresso (clear), Citroen, Coconut,Dutch Chocolate, Mango, Melon, Orange, Pineapple, Raspberry, Vanilla, Wild Apple, and of course a regular “unflavored” version.
Appearance: Clear brown / gold (not cloudy or translucent), on swirling it leaves a a thick clear coat on the inside of the glass, and a few legs developing slowly.
First Impression: Roasted coffee with only a stronger hint of of alcohol in the background than the single Espresso they make. A slightly waxy smell developing, and sweet sugar and a definite caramel ester to it.
Taste: Thick sweet body more of a caramel machiatto body, distinctly different from its uncolored sister, more in the style of Kahlua (but not as sweet thank god). A alkali aftertaste mixed with the sweetness lets you know the caffeine is in there.
Drinks: Much better than Kahlua in my opinion, for the usual drinks.
Final Thoughts: A excellent expression of a espresso vodka especially for something so easy to find. Compares well to the more artisisanal (and harder to find) bottlings out there and is a wonderful alternative to many of the coffee liqueurs out there. As a clear coffee vodka it also allows for a cocktail that doesn’t look like mud also.
Bottle:A frosted yet distinctive tall cylindrical bottle square shoulders marvelous graphics and a clear window to a reverse silkscreen painting .Attractive graphics (as in all their series) and gold neck foil.
