More manly sounding but tastes like a fake strawberry rum.

Notes: Most of our notes on Bacardi can be found here. Other Bacardi flavored rums are: Big Apple, Limón, Coconut, Dragonberry, Grand Melon,O, Peach, Razz, and Mojito in the flavored line. Not to mention various premixed and ready to drink concoctions – some of which actually contain rum, others a malt alcohol, or none at all depending on the product or in some cases, country.

What is a dragonberry you may ask ? It is the fruit of a cactus with a strawberry like taste. In some ways similar to the more common prickly pear .You can find them in the exotic fruit sections of some grocery stores. Bacardi combines this taste with strawberry flavoring to come up with the Dragonberry rum . Much better name and concept than a strawberry flavored rum – much more exotic and manly sounding.

AppearanceClear, no sediment whatsoever. On swirling, it leaves a thin, but tenacious clear coat on the inside of the glass, then develops legs and some droplets on the edge line.

First Impression: Strawberries with waxy notes, and sweet green and slightly spicy notes to it.

Taste: Strawberry, citrus, tropical fruit candy, fair amount of spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, lots of sugar. Sickly, sticky aftertaste. I hate to think what would happen if you drank too much of this . . .

Drinks: Can’t bear the thought. “Girly drinks,” I suppose.

CigarsSwisher Sweets.

Bottle: Clear glass with silkscreened graphics and a screwcap that required pliers and a knife to open.

Final Thoughts: Think tropical gummi bears. Not a serious rum or something for a serious drinker. This is one of those concoctions out there for people who love sweet, fruity, candylike alcohol for a cheap price. I’m not saying the underage, but people with similar tastes to the underage.
